I am so excited to be participating in my first One Room Challenge as a linking participant! If you aren't familiar with the ORC, it is an event where you have 6 weeks to transform a room in your home from start to finish. Linda from Calling it Home created the ORC years ago and it is so much fun! I have been following along for years, and now that we own a home it is time to get serious about decorating. We have lots of rooms in our home that need to be worked on, but the one I have decided to work on is...the nursery! I am so happy to share that we are expecting a little girl in January and the ORC is the perfect way to get her nursery all designed and put together before baby girl French arrives.
So lets start with the space....
The room is 10' x 11' and has one window and one small closet. While it isn't huge, it is a decent size for our little one (and our other bigger spare room is now a guest room/office combo). We refinished our hardwood floors in August and it is pretty much a blank slate that is ready to be made into something beautiful!
I thought I had a pretty good idea as to what I want to do with the space, but I keep changing my mind so it will be interesting to see how it all turns out. I have a lot of DIY projects that I want to tackle and I have to order pretty much everything for the room soon so that it arrives in time. I am starting completely from scratch since this is our first baby and we have nothing that we need for the nursery (yikes!) I will be posting updates each week so make sure to check back next Thursday to see the mood board and direction I will be taking the room!
And make sure to follow along with all 20 official One Room Challenge participants, as well as all of the other talented guest participants who are linking up!
