It is week 2 of the One Room Challenge and I was planning to show my design board as well as some room progress, however we have had a major issue and everything is changing.   I really wanted an eclectic glam vibe that didn't scream 'baby' and that we would enjoy spending time in.  This is what I originally came up with and I was pretty darn excited.

When I found the rug on Rugs USA I was really excited because I loved the colors and my husband really liked it too.   My husband was pretty adamant that the room not be full of pink, and since we have a very pink 1950's bathroom right across the hall I decided to oblige.  The rug arrived this week and it was a total bummer!  The colors were darker than in the picture, the pile was super messy, and worst of all was the smell.  I know that...

I am so excited to be participating in my first One Room Challenge as a linking participant!  If you aren't familiar with the ORC, it is an event where you have 6 weeks to transform a room in your home from start to finish.  Linda from Calling it Home created the ORC years ago and it is so much fun!  I have been following along for years, and now that we own a home it is time to get serious about decorating.  We have lots of rooms in our home that need to be worked on, but the one I have decided to work on is...the nursery!  I am so happy to share that we are expecting a little girl in January and the ORC is the perfect way to get her nursery all designed and put together before baby girl French arrives.

So lets start with the space....

Our Fall buying trip to Ecuador was in mid-September and I wanted to share a little bit about our buying process as well as some photos!  I love traveling down to Ecuador, but this year since I am pregnant we decided that it would be best for me to sit this one out. Instead, my mom (who always goes with me) took along one of her best friends and they did such a great job!  We have relationships with some great artisans/manufacturers and they were also able to cultivate some new relationships which I am really excited about!
